Mexican Flavour
…. at Harlow Carr Gardens. These salvia flowers - which seemingly originate from Mexico - and their shadows - were looking lovely against the hot colours of this painted wall. It may not be this specific salvia but Google tells me that the salvia has hallucinogenic qualities giving a herbal high - I’ve always liked the smell of salvia leaves - perhaps that’s why!
My friend Alison is into planting trees so we spent time in the established woodland and in the area where they have been planting trees - many of them quite small - since the 1990’s. Alison’s says she’s heard the best time to plant a tree was 20 years ago, the next best time is now!
Wandering under some large conifers we found several fly agaric and later the ink cap under an acer, some lovely blossom on an autumn flowering prunus
