The Battle

I've been going to Bradgate park for the past 11 years and until this year had never seen a fight between two of the big red deer stags. I was really lucky to spend the day with Danny Green on a workshop day and our patience sitting with the darker of these two stags for a couple of hours was rewarded when the lighter stag marched over the hill and set to. They fought for about 13 minutes before the lighter one won this particular bout, though both were exhausted. The power, strength and skill of these animals is simply incredible.
