Somebody Lived Here
Well, the weather's been stunningly good today, with sunshine and a temperature of 23 degrees celsius. Mario and I went for a drive into the countryside to get some photos. We saw lots of interesting things - including several large scrub fires blotting the otherwise scenic landscape. Honestly, I wish Environment Canterbury would sort these farmers out once and for all.
Anyhoo, here's my blip for today:
A long-abandoned 19th century cottage on the outskirts of Temuka, now being used as storage by a farmer.
This cottage probably housed a family, despite it's small size.
There are houses like this dotted all over the countryside in New Zealand.
It makes me wonder what sort of people lived here, what were their lives like?
