Black and white spiny
Identification - Gasteracantha kuhlii.
An early safari today but still very productive, with 21 keepers of 12 different species. Four of these were new to my collection, including today's blip, my first sighting of this tiny arachnid, about 10mm across.
It was in constant motion as it was doing a spot of web building. At each joint it would stop for a split second, but not enough time to focus. So, I played the numbers game and out of 40 shots, this was the only decent image.
Identification was easy as my filing system led me to gasteracantha from previous spiny spider images. An exciting addition to my collection.
