An Aussie icon
The FJ Holden, built in Australia in the 1950s is a much loved Australian icon. My family didn't own a car until I was 11 and our first car was an Austin A40. I loved that old second-hand car and still remember the number plate - AVB 498. I was very unhappy when it was traded in on another second hand car - an FJ Holden. I never liked the second car as much. I didn't know I was riding around in what was to become an Aussie icon.
This beautiful specimen is the first thing you see when you enter the National Museum of Australia.
