Morris men

Lovely Easter weekend back in Saddleworth, with the traditional cholocate eggs, snow drifts(!) and morris men outside the Top House in Dobcross.

Apparently, North West is one of the six premoninant styles of morris dancing - none of those fancy hankies or dodgy face-blackings here, just a processional, even 'military' style which developed from the mills a century or so ago.

One thing does unite them: by lunch time their pewter tankards were being put to full and liberal use, with predictable effects on the joviality of the atmosphere and accuracy of their steps!
