The Train now arriving at Platform One......

..... isn't the train at all but the locomotive coming along to pick up the Santa Special for its second run of the day. No.933 is a wood burner and reputedly the largest of its type in Europe. 142 of this "Jumbo" type were built and only 4 remain. Note the spark retardant smoke stack. Being a wood burner, there was a huge possibility of stray sparks which in a country full of forests would not be very clever. Note also the "deer catcher" on the front end also very useful for shifting moose out of the way. Photo shot at Toijala Station today.
