Contrasts
Saturday morning market as usual. When I was coming back I spotted this lady and her child - she was selling beans. As you can see, she is an albino - we have many albino's here in Malawi and there used to be a lot of stigma attached to them.
In the villages there still is, where they are called ghost people, or in extreme cases (not only in Malawi but in Tanzania as well) they are killed and their body parts used for witchcraft, as they are believed to be magical!
Albino's have great problems with the strong sun so when visitors come I advise them to carry an extra bottle of suncream so that we can pass it on to the ablino population.
