A Hundred Years Of School And Umbrellas

Rainy Maleny it certainly was today - though this pic might be a bit misleading - there are not usually so many umbrella-carriers filling the main street!

Australia is a young country, so when something celebrates 100 years, that counts as ancient history. Maleny State School celebrates its centenary today and part of the weekend's events was a parade involving past students from most of its ten decades (though none from the years 1913 to 1923 - unsurprisingly). Despite the weather everyone was in high spirits - right from the octogenarians to the five year olds.

But what really made me choose this as my blip of the day - is the wonderful array of multi-coloured umbrellas!
