Kağithane, and other places, Istanbul

Well, that was quite a day!  Hours were spent viewing several apartments, all nice, none quite 'right'. Today's photo is the view from the rooftop communal leisure area of one property viewed during the sunny spell this afternoon.

By 4pm I was done and at Midpoint in Akmerkez for something to eat then on my way by foot and metro to Istiklal Caddesi, where eventually, after some travel issues,  I met Sean at the James Joyce pub to watch Ireland thoroughly eliminate finish off Japan in the international rugby.  As the following game, England v Tonga, wasn't being televised, when we'd finished our beers we walked the length of Istiklal and took the metro to the Zorlu centre for some grocery shopping of imported foods stocked only at 'Eaterly', before getting back to campus around 9.30pm.

Weather was interesting! Multiple seasons in one day - typical Istanbul! Started off this morning with dense fog - couldn't see the top of the skyscrapers - melted in to a  warm and sunny afternoon but by 6pm was dark, grey, cold and by the time we left Zorlu, raining steadily.
