Deitar

Ilídio came over for a Portuguese lesson. We were talking generally about my recent stint in Niassa, and he suddenly launched into verb revision. We went through every possible conjugation and form of the verb deitar (to lay).

I tried to distract him with a slice of pudim, but he kept on going through each tense until my brain resembled mush.

I needed to deitar in bed after the lesson.
