Awaiting its fate
Who knows?
This small house lies within the grounds of the old Royal Victoria Hospital. The hospital was established in 1894 as the Victoria Hospital for Consumption and was latterly a geriatric hospital, eventually closing in 2017.
The site is all closed off now, but recently trees seem to have been felled to facilitate the work that Scottish Water is doing to instal new sewer pipes and a storm water storage tank which should increase the capacity of the sewer network and help protect surrounding streets from sewer flooding at times of heavy rainfall. This is a big job and Craigleith Road is now closed to through traffic for several months.
