Who ruined

this castle...
The Castle Montfort was built around the year 1260, by order of Hendrik III van Gelre, who later also called himself 'Lord of Montfort'. After phases of renovations, sieges, fires but also self-demolition, the castle has slowly fallen into ruins, albeit still impressive....unfortunately it was closed, so we couldn't get in
