Cake and Catan
The whole family is suffering bad colds, so we had a quiet day at home to rest and recuperate with board games, card games and lots of hot tea. This afternoon we played one of our favourites, Settlers of Catan and ate home-made blueberry cake.
It's a good reminder that family time doesn't need to be complicated or expensive.
My youngest has become very keen on Den Store Bagedyst (the Danish version of the Great British Bake off) and was desperate to try a mousse filling in a layer cake. Although we bake quite a lot at home, I've never made one before so while waiting for our corona test results we managed to pull one together between us and the 9 year old was very pleased and proud it turned out so well.
It was actually a lot easier than I expected so I guess we'll be adding this one to the family repertoire in future.
Back to work and school tomorrow, let's see who is well enough to go in the morning.
