A lazy start to the day with coffee and pastries and the modern equivalent of the Sunday papers ie reading most of the cultural stuff on The Guardian's website on the phone in bed.

Down to Rothbury to visit Cragside house and gardens. We've been before on a number of occasions, we've even stayed in their holiday cottages too, it's a pretty lovely place. This is the formal garden, and that greenhouse on the left was definitely all intact the last time we were here.

Home to an empty house that suddenly filled up when our girls and our Shetland pal returned home from an afternoon of pizza and shopping in town. Right, MOTD2 now beckons...
