Colour My Life......
It's been a long time since I last uploaded to Blip. We're now on day 81 and the last upload was on day 3, so you do the sums! I have been blipping, but have just not had a spare moment to upload anything. I now have a little bit of time, so shall slowly be uploading back blips from the last 3 months over the next few days.
Anyhow, I laid in bed in the early hours of this morning and watched one of my favourite films, Le fabuleux destin d'Amelie Poulain. I have watched it quite a few times, but always with the subtitles on. I have been on a bit of a 'do something you've never done before' kinda trip over the last few months (hence the lack of time to upload to Blip!), so I watched it without the subtitles this time round.
And for the first time I noticed how much colour there is in this film, and I don't just mean visually. When I've watched this film before, I've always laughed out loud - it is a funny film. But this time round, I spent most of the time I was watching it shedding tears.
But, anyway. All I wanted to do today was take a shot of something totally bursting with colour. But sod's law, it's been raining all day, and everything in the outside world seemed so grey today. I looked for a long time to find some colour and couldn't, so I gave up, and went to visit my sister and nieces.
And there it was. The colour in my life.
And proof again, that if you go looking for something, you won't find it. If you just sit back, and it's meant for you, it'll find you.
This is one of my favourite songs from my teenage years, and so perfectly fits this moment.
