Memories
I have a bookcase in my living room that has shelves full of memories. This is my parents’ shelf. That’s Mom on the left and Dad on the right. The baby photo is Dad and the art pieces are his work. The metal tools are Arvin’s and the other items are things Dad collected or made. The cylinder with lightning inside was created using one of the big machines at the nuclear physics lab at UC Berkeley. Every time I look at all these cool things I think of my parents and of Arvin too. It seems so odd that Dad died 30 years ago and Mom 24 years ago. Time has gone so fast. It’s been over four years since Arvin died. Where has that time flown to?
Extra is the final version of my last painting. I’m now calling it “Northwest Sunset.”
