A Heron Instead....

I have discovered a little hide overlooking ponds where I recently heard and spotted a Snipe. I would love to get a picture but they are very hard to see and very fast. As you can see my mission failed. I now realise that I am not a very good tracker - as yet, but I am not going to give up!

The light was fading and I was just about to put my camera away when this lovely Heron flew in and ruffled all her feathers not far away from me and settled down.

Disappointment on the Snipe front but I was quite pleased to capture a Heron instead for today anyway.
