Punishment

N’s choir practice was cancelled this morning so he suggested we went out for the day. No decisions made, we just set off in a southerly direction, wandering from place to place enjoying the Autumn colours in the Sussex lanes. We found a small pub at lunch time. We wondered whether they ever used the stocks on misbehaving customers.
On our way home we dropped in to see a friend who has a lot on her mind at the moment. I was diffident about calling in, but she was absolutely delighted to see us, it was really worth while.
