Deer green place

Walking along the Clyde, at the east end of Glasgow, came upon a family of wild deer, amongst long grass and the wreckage of an industrial past. [Some may be interested to know that one translation of Glasgow (Glaschu? in the Gaelic) is Dear Green Place. Or am I mis-remembering?]
