Marble Hill

Visited Marble Hill yesterday with other members of OGH as well as the Victoriana Society.  there is a strong connection Between this house, and Old Government House in Belair.  In the late 1870's this house was built as a replacement for OGH.  The 360 degree views are spectacular, and that's one thing we don't have at OGH.  Plus it's a 26 room building, whereas OGH struggles with 4 plus the servants' quarters.

The downside is that it was burnt out in a bush fire in 1955, whereas OGH has never burnt down.  

That gives us something to crow about.
