16th Century Bed

This run training is getting serious so I had to get the children on their scooters so I could do a 7km route. It took us along the River Kent, then the old canal route before finishing at Abbot Hall park. The bribe was that they would have a play in the best local playground!

It was very cold so after a quick post play picnic we retreated to the Abbot Hall coffee shop. Revived with coffees and hot chocolate we had our first ever visit to the Museum of Lakeland Life. Hard to believe its taken us 3 years to make it!

This bed was in a room depicting what a high level farmer's bedroom would look like. The bed itself dates to the early 1600s. A really interesting museum if you are ever in Kendal.
