Red Crested Pochard

I went down to the gravel lakes today, which was deserted due to the alternation of sun and deluges, which makes for a great sky and fantastic light.

I didn't know what these ducks were, but now I do and I need to get back and get a closer pic as they are quite lovely things.

The latin name is Netta Rufina and in French it's Nette Rousse
