Knock and the door will be opened ...

... or perhaps not! 

I got a bit behind in my prep for Tots Worship this morning. I was in the office first thing with very little time left. I realised I had left my book at home so I dashed back. Unfortunately my door handle has been playing up ie the screw holes are getting large, I have a few screws loose (!) and it decided that this morning would be the morning when it would fall apart meaning that I couldn't actually open the door! 

I dashed back to lead the session and sent our caretaker down to break in to my house. Actually that was quite easy with a pair of pliers to turn the spindle after he had taken the handle off. 

He left the handle off and taped up the latch. I can still lock it though so it is perfectly safe tonight until the joiner can come and have a proper look tomorrow. I have to use the yale key to pull the door to. It's amazing how automatic things are and I keep going to grab the non existent handle. It was rather funny the first time I got home. Because there was no handle I forgot to unlock it and then wondered why I couldn't open it even though I had taken the pliers to the spindle! 

It seems to be one problem after another at the moment!
