Late apples

We don't know what type they are, the tree was here when we came 40 years ago. It's nearly deteriorated in the trunk, yet keeps producing an abundant crop in the late fall. We call it "Elva's tree" after a dear lady who came years ago and harvested the apples with her family to make cider. Many, many times she would thank us, and declare how good the cider was.
No rain today; we worked cleaning up the raspberry patch and other outside stuff. An "atmospheric river" of rain is expected tonight and into Friday. We've had warnings from the county sent to our home phone and cell phones to warn about potential flooding and landslides. Thankful to live on a hill!
