Last Year’s Experiment

Last year I planted these 2 chrysanthemum plants in a couple of pumpkins as a decoration by the front door. They didn’t last long because I had omitted to put any drainage holes in the pumpkins! But even though they looked dead, I planted them in the ground, pumpkin and all. And the result was that they have flowered twice this year. They seemed to like the extra nutrients from the composted pumpkins they had been planted in!
Went for a nice walk round the lake today with cousin Dana.
Helped out a bit with Rachelle, who is still feeling quite up and down. On top of her own health, she is now dealing with Micah coming home from school today with a fever, nausea and headache. Jamie is away on a business trip till tomorrow night. Rachelle’s parents have gone back home to Arkansas today, so she needed a bit of support.
