Low tide at Brancaster Staithe
It was an early start this morning, and we managed to leave home shortly after 6am to drive to Norfolk. An easy journey of about 3 hrs 15 mins, we had rain on the way but no traffic. We marvelled at the autumn colours in Thetford Forest, they were absolutely spectacular, we passed fields full of pheasant and partridge, probably from a shooting estate, we waved at the queen (!) as we drove past Sandringham (she arrived by helicopter yesterday, tsk tsk, her son and grandson won't think that is a very green way to travel) and arrived and had breakfast.
I took Xena for a walk while Gavin got on with hanging blinds, coats hooks, mirrors, etc. We had a lovely walk although at low tide she does get quite muddy. There were many curlews, oyster catchers and I even saw a brent goose, and a few bird watchers enjoying the birdlife on the shore. It was sunny but rather blustery. I love this old boat and always photograph it, and the extra is looking inland when I was walking on the sea defences above the marshes.
We had excellent service from John Lewis who texted yesterday to say what time they would be delivering the TV today, they then phoned when they were 30 minutes away, and they arrived within the expected time. So that is another job for Gavin, to put up the TV and install it. Actually he loves doing DIY and finds it very relaxing, and everything is starting to come together nicely.
Adam and Pip are arriving this evening and we are going out for supper, it will be lovely to see them again. We plan to have a walk tomorrow morning as I think Gavin needs a break from all the DIY.
