A couple of days back the builder ripped up the kitchen floor tiles which were firmly stuck down to the asphalt. As a result the asphalt came away with the tiles revealing the original (and very damp) quarry tiles.

The plumber (rightly) expressed concern about laying underfloor heating onto these tiles and I searched desperately for a solution.

The best I could come up with was a liquid dpm which is brushed onto the floor.

Then a chance meeting with a friend of the electrician resulted in a quick phone call and a guy is coming to asphalt the floor on Wednesday, whoop de whoop.

A large glass of plonk, and listening to the genius that was Amy Winehouse certainly beats painting the floor
