WALK WITH NEIL

Neil had a day off today so we decided to go for a walk.  I got the bus to Swalwell and walked to his house to meet him.  Then we walked towards Blaydon and had a look around Shibdon Pond - a local nature reserve..  When we arrived we could see around 50 Canada Geese pottering about on the grass.  As we walked to the pond the geese started following us - they obviously thought we had food.  Unfortunately we didn't.

We carried on walking around the pond and followed a marked route which seemed to fizzle out and we got rather lost.  Luckily Neil has a good sense of direction and he was able to get us back to Lidl where we both went shopping.  The walk was about 4 miles.

Weather was grey and mild -  we did have some rain as we walked but it wasn't too bad.
