Bespeckled owl

One of my favourite looking owls in the Owl Centre at Polkemmet Country Park in West Lothian.  It is native to South and Central America.
We visited the centre for the first time today, despite having reservations about such birds being caged. Such a great variety of species, which are breeding there too. We didn’t stay to see them fly but had a great chat with one of the ’ keepers’ who gave us a lot of additional information about their life there and also introduced us to an owl who was 16 years old and had fathered 36 owlets!
