We celebrated Mum's birthday today by taking her to visit Dad with littleA in tow, after getting a call this morning telling us he'd been moved from the assessment unit to another room on his own on another ward at another part of the hospital. Our girl was incredibly excited to see where Taid's 'special bedroom' was, and I think it made his day too (even if she did take liberties whenever we were all distracted to help herself to his stash of sweets).
He isn't Neutropic anymore (big yay, for now) and by the afternoon he hadn't needed any more stomach injections or drips and was moved again to a small ward of three, so during evening visiting I chatted to him about the skills of using a woodturning lathe (I know nothing about woodturning lathes, but it's amazing what you can chat about when you're happy to just be chatting about anything other than how well/ill he's feeling or what he did/didn't eat) whilst Mum excused herself to check with the ward sister that everything had been translated properly during the various handovers and ward moves. Turns out he'll be there for a few more days yet.

I went for a drive around fiveish to check out the route of the 10k I'm running next Sunday to help raise funds for Nightingale House Hospice. Looks good, so I'm going to give it a test run by building it into my long training run tomorrow morning.
