Ambleside

This was our first proper weekend away since before the world broke Covid style.

Ambleside, it was so, so good to be there. After everything we’ve been through since March 2020, I had to pinch myself we were back enjoying the wonderful views of the Lakes.

We just had a quiet relaxing shopping, I got a new much needed waterproof. In the afternoon we went to pub! We just didn’t have the energy for long walks.

Life has been slightly chaotic recently, early October the in laws (91& 84) after having shielded for all those months and double vaccinated, felt safe enough to go away for a few days, came back and tested positive for Covid. One (91) has bounced back admirably after a rough 10 days or so, though still gets very tired, other (84) has been floored by it, with 2 hospital stints, including a lung drain and has a long recovery ahead. What ever anyone thinks, we and they are very grateful for the vaccinations as we know full well a year ago, this experience would be a very different story with a very different outcome.
