‘Croquet in November’

We went for a walk in the grounds of Lauriston Castle this afternoon to admire the foliage, and were fascinated to find croquet still in action (though admittedly the players were reasonably wrapped up, and certainly not in shirt sleeves!) in the two courts in front of the house (courts which incidentally have magnificent views of Cramond Island, Inchmickery and the Fife coast!)

The ground is leased to Edinburgh Croquet Club https://www.edinburghcroquetclub.com/, who have played there since the club was founded over 70 years ago.
