Remembrance Sunday
There's always a parade near us on Remembrance Sunday, and today it was the biggest we've seen for many years - including lots of children in the uniformed organisations. I particularly liked the serene dignity shown in the faces of these older men so I've chosen this for my main blip.
The parade ended at the local churchyard where a short outdoor service was held, including of course two minutes' silence at 11am. It was very well attended - I guess there were at least 300 people there. Wreaths were laid at the war memorial and I've included a shot of some of the childrens' handiwork in the extra.
A sober and thoughtful way to remember those who gave up so much for others.
