Grey seals
Last night we had a good meal out at a restaurant recommended to me by someone I had met on the beach on our previous visit to Norfolk. We obviously had to book in advance, and the food was excellent as was the service - I had pollack which apparently is a line caught fish and different to pollock, which is trawler fished. The restaurant was full, the friendly waitress said they have been so busy with no letting up for the winter season which is unusual.
I was up before sunrise again this morning, kept checking out the window, but no sunrise due to thick cloud cover! (Although we have had lovely sunsets).
After breakfast we took Xena to Brancaster beach for a walk. It was very mild and there was some blue sky breaking through the clouds. She absolutely loves running on the beach and chasing after her ball, as can be seen in the last extra.
While Gavin kept her entertained with her ball, I went a little further on the beach to where there are always grey seals lying about at low tide. I photographed this one who was lying with her flippers crossed which I thought was quite funny - it has to be a 'her', surely, the way a woman would lie sunbathing on her tummy with her legs crossed at the ankles behind her. There were also a few swimming in the creek.
We had a good walk on the beach then went back home for a coffee. We did not feel like a big lunch, so we went to the local store and got a few things for lunch - they also carry a very extensive Cook range which is useful.
After lunch we tidied up, did some laundry, and then popped next door to say goodbye to our lovely neighbours, before setting off for home again. This time it was only 3 hours home as there was no traffic.
