Gliding over the incoming tide
A day of reading and little else.
I did have a jog along the edge of the water as the tide was rapidly rising. Hadn't been there long when I saw a couple of Takapu (Australasian gannets). One ceased its slow glide and then dived at a slight angle into the water. I had time only to marvel at its speed and (I hope) accuracy. I then concentrated on the other which just maintained its glide, allowing me to get a half dozen photos.
