Mahonia

When I walked past the Mahonia bush growing in one corner of the garden, I got a lovely surprise when I discovered that it was in flower, with lots more flowers on the way. It is wonderful to have such a burst of bright golden colour in the darker days of this time of year. In the top left hand corner of the photo, the blue Lacecap hydrangea which I posted last week is photobombing this shot!
