Fun with Shadows
When I picked Maggie up from nursery at lunchtime it was sunny and mild so we headed for the shore. I already knew we could get great shadows on this wall as, when I passed earlier Gary had just painted it and Gary and I with Geordie had been making silly shadows here.
After we captured our shadows Maggie wanted to go to the beach - to swim with no clothes on!! Maggie is not a big fan of clothes and will take them off at every opportunity. The beach at West Shore had lots of seaweed so we went down to the bathing pool beach. I managed to convince her to keep her clothes on, but she insisted on the socks and shoes coming off to paddle. I was a bit of a wuss and kept mine on.
Geordie had a good swim and Maggie had a good paddle so they were both happy. Extra.
Then we walked through the wee park and back to the house. Once home we indulged in big cups of cocoa with marshmallows and squirty cream.
We made up some jigsaws after that then began making tea. We made Moroccan vegetable stew. Maggie was a big help adding stuff to the pot and stirring. She pinched chunks of peppers and ran off to share them with Geordie. They’re like partners in crime, co-conspirators.
We were very pleased with our stew and emptied our bowls, much to Geordie’s disappointment.
By 6pm Maggie was tired, but I managed to amuse her for another hour. Then it was teeth brushed, stories, songs and off to sleep no bother. Geordie missed out on the teeth brushing bit.
I really can’t think of a better way to spend a day than in the company of Maggie.
