Maidenhead Thicket

I was in Maidenhead this morning and just before leaving the house I threw my wellies and a jacket into the car in case I wanted to go for a walk on the way home. I stopped here at Maidenhead Thicket (National Trust land) and had a good long walk for a couple of hours. I wish I’d packed a picnic! Isn’t it beautiful?

I was sad when I arrived because I’d just said goodbye to some very close friends who are leaving tomorrow for Malawi. They are moving there for a few years and I will miss them terribly.

I was glad to be out walking after several days at home. I’m feeling good after my short visit to the hospital last week and the beauty and the exercise lifted my spirit!
