It's been a long time
In fact, it's been so long I had to get the old recipe book out to check the quantities of caster sugar, butter, flour, eggs, I did remember the dash of vanilla essence and a small 'glug' of vegetable oil (keeps them a bit moist).
I can't remember when I last made a batch of cakes but I think it was before the lockdowns started in 2020.
There was a tin and a half of cakes but this was taken after the taste testing!
