Morning glory between the pohutukawa

We had to be on the road early this morning as we were taking Mr H to the orthodontist. As I have not been driving to the city during peak traffic during the lockdown, I felt it best to allow one and a half hours. Consequently, we reached Swanson almost an hour before we needed to leave for the appointment. Time for another coffee.

Being down in Auckland, we went to look at the new flooring which was put down in most of the main sitting room of the house in Woodlands Park Road. Having been laid on top of the particle board floor, it has made a great difference. Then back to Fidelis.

While S had a zoom meeting with her poetry group (Isthmus Poets), I read a frustrating paper on the protection from depressive relapse in bipolar disorder by exposure to daylight in the mornings. Frustrating because the finding is likely to be discounted due to weaknesses in the study design. I have long encouraged my patients with bipolar disorder to do some aerobic exercise outside in the morning light, and it would be helpful had this study not had those weaknesses.

Even at 0600 the lux from the rising sun when I took the photo for today's blip was sufficient to have the effect which they found was protective.
