Nicky and her Nikon

The bench

Another lovely sunny day today - I took Xena for a walk earlier than usual, as I had to leave home at 10am to go to the photography coffee morning. I photographed this bench on my walk today, there are quite a few benches throughout our woods like this in memory of lost loved ones.

Yesterday I mentioned being part of three photography groups - only one is a camera club, I could never cope with three camera clubs! The country club we belong to is mainly for golf but I am only a social member there, and they have many other activity groups you can join besides the golf - chess, book club, gardening, bridge etc and also a photography club. This group requires very little photography input from it's members (other than an annual exhibition) but they do arrange the most fantastic speakers so we are very fortunate. Tonight we have Justin Minns (on zoom) who is a brilliant landscape photographer who specialises in the Norfolk, Suffolk and Essex coast. I am actually attending a one day Norfolk workshop with him next year as I have always liked his photography. This morning, for the first time, there was a coffee morning to meet the other members and it was rather successful with a very good turnout, so I think they may do this on a more regular basis. Two of my camera club members also belong to this photography group so it was nice to see them too. The country club is really struggling with the lack of staff, like the rest of the hospitality sector in the UK, and it took ages to get a coffee - although it was excellent when it finally arrived.

I have spent the rest of the day preparing my presentation on my ARPS for my camera club which is next Monday night. I have to get the slides and images to the techie member by Friday, and I did not realise it would take me so long to prepare the talk. I have to keep it short as there are other members presenting so I am currently trying to cut it down.

Gavin is away tonight for work, so that means I don't need to make supper! I will make myself something light before the zoom talk starts.
