9th hole

Since I was last a member at Old Thorns, some ten or twelve years ago, they've shortened the length of the 9th hole to it's current 230 yards, but it's still a par 4 with some nasty bunkers peppering the front and sides.

After seeing Bunny hit his drive short and in the left hand bunker, Mr P hit his just short of the left hand bunker.  I calmly strolled up and spanked (this, I understand is a technical golfing term for hitting the ball cleanly out of the middle of the bat) the ball straight into the middle of the green.  Sadly, my putt came to a halt about two inches from the hole otherwise I would have been celebrating my first ever eagle.  Still, it's nice to be disappointed with a birdie!
