Wreck, Le Jeune Emma,
It has been a beautiful still, sunny day so we took a walk along the beach past the wreck of Le Jeune Emma which has been there since 1828. One of the 13 people drowned was Adeline Coquelin, the 12 year old niece by marriage to Emperor Napoleon Bonaparte, her mother being sister to Josephine. She is buried at St Illtyds Church, Pembrey and a plaque there commemorates her death. It was more exposed than usual due to the recent strong winds and high tides so we had a good scout all around it.
