On the way to the shops

It was a lovely bright morning and a horrible dark wet afternoon. 

 I took some presents to the post office to send to friends in America and since I had missed the last date for sending a parcel by surface mail, it cost me over £16 to send a very small, light parcel by airmail. The lady in the post office admitted that Parcel Force had increased their prices substantially.
