Where there's muck ...

... there's the need for a good groom!

I normally steer clear of photographing animals, on the basis that others do it far better.

But, out walking in spring sunshine today, I passed this incredibly muddy sight and felt rather sorry for the animals: most were apparently stuck in the same positions when I passed again nearly an hour later.

Am I being too sentimental?
