Clematis tangutica seedhead.
Kanyl and I had a trip out to Larch Cottage Nurseries in Melkinthorpe. From the point of view of looking for flower blips it was a bit of a nonstarter. There were a few but nothing appealed. It is never the less an interesting place to visit and the inevitable coffee was very good.
What caught my eye most among the plants was a Clematis tangutica (sorry don't know a common name). From a distance it looked almost white there were so many of these fluffy seedheads covering it. In summer it is a mass of the small drooping yellow flowers. Interestingly and although there is no link to the colour clematis are members of the Ranunculaceae, the same family as the buttercups.
