STILTWALKER

The lovely autumn sunshine and mildness tempted me out today - that and my cold having dried up a lot overnight. Closer to the leaves there was evidence of much eight-legged activity (extra). And the Jay was back, busy caching nuts and seeds ahead of the predicted cold snap we're about to get, otherwise known as winter (2nd extra). It doesn't seem so long ago that we'd have expected hard frosts and freezing fogs well before now.
