Catkins

I was surprised to see that this shrub was producing catkins at the same time that the leaves were turning for the autumn and winter!! They might be hard to see but there were certainly little clumps of catkins just starting to show!! It will be interesting to see how this develops as the weather gets colder and winter really sets in!!
It is a corkscrew hazel which we planted in the back garden about six years ago! The leaves always look crumpled!
