Endurance

I wonder whether anyone has studied the buoyancy characteristics of various leaf types? Oak leaves seem particularly hardy, keeping their shape, if not their colour, beyond that of others.

I was drawn by the shape first, then the textures and veining set against the smooth water surface. I liked the crunched up leaves on the right, although I'm not sure which tree they are from.

Bitterly cold, windy and overcast. Another paltry day.
